night time noise

artificial rain drops radiating from the speaker of my phone. the speaker of my phone vibrating against the bedside table. your soft breathing, the rustle of the sheets as you move your legs against mine. wind rattling the wooden window frames. the low hum of the TV — turned off, but still tuned in, waiting to be woke. cars — tyres on tarmac almost like waves lapping against the shore. my mind — only quiet when listening to all this noise.
